Help and support

Anti-social behaviour can affect people in different ways. In some cases it can affect peoples physical and mental well-being. We recognises that people are sometimes too frightened to report anti-social behaviou for fear of reprisials. We are committed to ensuring that if people report anti-social behaviour to us, we will do everything we can to support those vicitms.

To make you feel safer in your home we may offer to install additional security or provide you with extra support, including:

  • Installing CCTV in your home or in the communal area
  • Additional lighting
  • Fencing
  • Additonal locks
  • Installation of a personal alarm
  • Refer you to floating support
  • Refer you to other support services
  • We may ask the Police or a Crime Prevention Officer to attend your property to provide you with advice

In some cases we may have to take legal action against the perpetrator of anti-social behaviour, this may require witnesses attending Court. Going to Court may be a worrying experience, especially if it is your first time.

If you attend Court with us, we will make sure that a member of staff is with you at all times. We may also refer you to Victim Support or Witness Care. This service can offer:

  • A visit to the Court prior to the hearing
  • Information on Court proceedings
  • Someone to accompany you into the Court if you have to give evidence
  • A quiet room for you to wait in before and during the Court hearing
