Universal Credit was introduced to the Teignbridge area in early November. At the moment the changes only affect working age people who are not currently claiming benefits and are making a new claim, but eventually, anyone claiming any of the following benefits will be affected:
As part of the new online application process, you will need to include a lot more information about the breakdown of what you pay for your rent and what you pay for any service charges, Court costs or a TeignCare alarm.
You can now see this breakdown in the My Accounts area of your SeeMyData account and a summary is also available on the Welcome page.
We strongly recommend that you register with SeeMyData if you claim benefits as this will help you with your application.
