We are celebrating after achieving the Investors in People Gold Award. Teign Housing was assessed for the award in October 2011 and demonstrated an impressive 95% of the assessment criteria. We are now represented in the top 3% of recognised Investors in People organisations who have been awarded either Gold, Silver or Bronze awards.
The assessors report has been described by the Investors in People’s Employer Representative as ‘inspirational to read’. In his report Clive Tabiner, Investors in People Assessor said: “Teign Housing is a very impressive organisation. Your core values are embedded and these support your team by promoting mutual trust and respect throughout the organisation. Many congratulations on achieving Gold status, it is well deserved.”
In November 2010 all Teign Housing staff took part in a staff survey where 87% said that they were proud to work for Teign Housing and 97% said that it would take a lot for them to leave.

Claer Lloyd-Jones, the Tenant Services Authority’s Chief Executive said: “I wanted to visit Teign Housing to see how a small, local housing association is engaging with their tenants. Teign Housing is really starting to make their mark in the housing sector and they are emerging as a strong organisation who are providing good quality services to tenants. It’s great to see them achieve this award as they have a clear focus on customer service and tenant engagement which is embedded amongst their staff.”
We currently employ 92 members of staff and work with a number of external contractors who are also based in the south west. A cross section of staff, board members and contractors were interviewed as part of the Investors in People assessment. In Total, 187 evidence requirements were met out of a possible 196.
