Teign Housing recognises that all members of the local community, residents, suppliers, staff and Board Members have a right to be treated with fairness and equality. We aim to deliver our services and employ staff in a fair and equal way. We also understand that treating everyone the same way is not always fair.  To outline our commitment to meeting individual needs, we have produced our 2009-2011 Equality and Diversity Strategy>> (please click to view).  This is accompanied by an Equality and Diversity Action Plan 2009-10>> (please click to view)

Our Disability Equality Scheme 2007/10,  sets out what we will do to make sure disabled people have the same chances as everyone else to use our services or to be employed Teign Housing. The Disability Equality Scheme is accompanied by an action plan that details the steps that we will take to make equality happen for disabled people.

Disability Focus Group 

Disability focus group

Teign Housing has a Disability Focus Group who meet up twice a year to make sure the aims of the Disability Equality Action Plan are carried out.  If meetings aren't really your thing, but you would still like to be involved, then we would also like to be able to contact you from time to time if we need your advice on how to make sure our services are fair and accessible for all - it's up to you. Please contact Theresa Farris on 01626 322801 or Theresa.Farris@teignhousing.co.uk if you would like to get involved.
