The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is the regulator for homes owned by housing associations (such as Teign Housing) and co-ops. The first thing the TSA needs to do is draw up a brand new set of standards for all social landlords. These standards are very important, as the TSA will be monitoring how landlords do in achieving them – and taking action against any who don’t.

Having your say
The Tenant Services Authority has been listening to tenants across England to help them understand what you want to see in the new standards. The National Conversation is the largest and highest profile tenant consultation ever that will take place in three phases.  In the first phase of consultation, which was launched back in January, over 27,000 tenants across the UK gave the TSA feedback about the things that are most important to them. This has enabled the TSA to think about the standards they should set for landlords – how good they should be – and what they should do if a landlord isn’t getting it right. The second phase of consultation sets out what the TSA heard in the first phase and will ensure what tenants said are part of the new standards.

Tenants were asked to be part of this second phase conversation.  On Wednesday 12th August, and Thursday 13th August the Tenants’ Forum and Senior Forum respectively hosted a Local Conversation.  During these sessions participants had the opportunity to put their views about the TSA’s proposed standards, and these views are now being fed back to the TSA so they know what you think.

You can still
give your views online at www.nationalconversation.co.uk   If you don’t have computer access, please remember you can use the computers in the Tenants’ Resource Centre or public library - just get in touch for more infomation or help.

As we get more information and feedback from the TSA, we'll keep you updated here on this page.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part to make sure that our local needs and views are considered nationally!
