What we do

Our Rents Team are not just here to collect your rent and any rent arrears, but they are also here to identify and support any customers who are struggling to pay their rent and any other debts. We work closely with other organisations such as Teignbridge District Council and the Credit Union to assist customers with their finances. We can also give help and advice on the following:

• Helping you to decide which is the best way for you to pay your rent
• Making arrangements to help you repay rent arrears
• Giving debt management advice
• Working out what your benefit payments will be
• Giving advice about welfare benefits (including Housing Benefit)
• Helping you to complete Housing Benefit forms
• Making sure you are receiving all the benefits that you are entitled to

Teignbridge District Council hold a Housing Benefit surgery every Wednesday at our shop in the Butter Market, Newton Abbot. If you have any questions about your Housing or Council Tax benefit, why not phone 01626 322782/01626 322738 to make an appointment or just pop in on a Wednesday.
