Give our residents great living environments, and we’ll give you a great future.

Teign Housing is a successful social landlord employing over 90 ambitious, committed people, responsible for managing more than 3,600 homes across South Devon. Enjoying involvement in all aspects of grounds and estate maintenance, you will ensure that our residents benefit from clean and tidy living environments.

About the Estates Maintenance Operative role

As one of our Estates Maintenance Operatives, you will conduct weekly inspections of communal areas, carry out minor repairs and report more significant maintenance issues to colleagues. At the same time, you will cut grass, maintain hedges and plant shrubs and flowers to create attractive landscapes, resolve enquiries from tenants and oversee Health & Safety compliance in everything you do, giving you plenty of variety and responsibility.

About you

Experienced in all aspects of grounds maintenance, you will hold a clean current driving licence and be capable of using industrial machinery safety. Needless to say, you should share our passion for customer service and be self-motivated, well-organised and hardworking, and you will bring excellent interpersonal skills.

A formal Health & Safety qualification would be very useful, as would a trailer towing licence and some pesticide training, but this is by no means essential as we will provide a comprehensive induction.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package with a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ leave per year plus bank holidays, free parking and a modern working environment.
