Safety is central to our culture. So you’ll be crucial to our future.
Teign Housing is a successful social landlord employing over 90 ambitious, committed people, responsible for managing more than 3,600 homes across South Devon. Effective health and safety policy is central to our continued success and our residents’ wellbeing, so you will have a pivotal role to play in our future plans.
Advising the Senior Management Team, Board and colleagues at all levels on health, safety and welfare issues, you will make certain that we comply fully with our statutory obligations. In particular, you will evaluate and enhance our current procedures and practices, actively promote health and safety compliance, and manage all health & safety risk assessments, giving you an extremely high profile. At the same time, you will conduct internal compliance audits on our housing sites, organise first aid and fire safety training, monitor safeguarding activity and investigate any incidents and near misses, requiring deep knowledge of current and evolving legislation.
Of graduate calibre or professionally qualified in health and safety (British Safety Council, NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma), you will bring extensive experience in similar roles. Naturally, you should be familiar with operating at senior management level, adept at deploying teams and budgets, and capable of bringing a sharp analytical mindset to everything you do. Finally, it is vital that you can draft reports that deliver real insight and have the gravitas to inspire confidence from colleagues and tenants alike as you challenge accepted wisdom and take our safety procedures to the next level.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package with a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ leave per year plus bank holidays, free parking and a modern working environment.
Teign Housing is committed to its policy on equality and diversity and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. Registered charity no. 1112196.
