The elements of your home, such as its roofs and windows need regular maintenance and repairs to keep them up to standard and in good working order. Sometimes these elements will need to be replaced completely once they’ve reached the end of their economic life.

If your home is due for maintenance work we will send you the details of any work to be carried out in your home approximately two months before. This will include what we are going to do, who the contractor will be and their contact details. If your kitchen or bathroom is due for renewal you will be given a choice of kitchen units, worktops and flooring and tiling.

  • For day to day repairs we offer a responsive repairs service with two priority bandings.
  • By appointment repairs will be completed within 21 days (42 days if it requires and inspection or survey)
  • Emergency repairs will be completed within 24 hours.

Handyperson Service

The Handyperson Service is available to all Teign Housing residents and can be used for help with ‘odd jobs’ and small ‘DIY’ tasks around the house including: putting up new shelves, curtain poles and internal doors, gardening and lawn mowing.


  • The service is charged at a fee of £25 per hour and can be booked for up to a maximum of 4 hours per session. Please note that payment will be required up front via card payment before an appointment can be booked.
  • Please be aware that the fee will not include the cost of materials and travel time. Please also be aware that certain jobs may require the prior permission of Teign Housing before the work could commence.
  • Please be aware additional charges may apply for gardening works to cover waste disposal etc.
