We began our ten-year maintenance contract with Ian Williams in 2017, and it ends in April 2027. Ian Williams provides several support services to Templer HomeBuild, including human resources, IT systems, and contracts for materials and subcontractors.
We have had a long and successful relationship with Ian Williams, and they have been an excellent company to work with. Moving forward though, after careful consideration, the Teign Housing Board has decided that from April 2027, we will do these services ourselves, known as insourcing.
This is an exciting and pivotal moment for Teign Housing and Templer HomeBuild, as it will enable us to make changes that will really set us up for the future. In particular, the project will give us more control over how we work, as well as saving a considerable amount for us to invest in other areas such as new and existing homes.
Our preparations to get ready for the change in April 2027 will not affect the repairs and maintenance service we provide or how we do it, as we will continue working with Ian Williams until then.
We will keep all residents informed about any changes as we get closer to April 2027.
