Renting a Home

We advertise all our properties on Devon Home Choice, so if you want to move into a Teign Housing home, you must be registered with Devon Home Choice.  You can learn more about Devon Home Choice and complete the online registration form by visiting their website.  This applies whether you are new to the area or an existing housing association or council tenant. Once registered, you will be given a banding according to your housing need. Once you have this banding, you will need to log on every week to bid on any home you are interested in.

Devon Home Choice

There are lots of information and videos on the Devon Home Choice website. Under the ‘Useful Information’ pages, there is a ‘Are you tenancy ready’ section. It’s important that when you are contacted for a property, there are no barriers to you getting a new home, for example, having saved your rent in advance or resolving any current rent arrears you may have.

Homes are advertised from 12:00am on Wednesday until 11:59pm the following Monday. You can bid for up to 3 homes during this time. Homes are not advertised, and no bids can be placed on a Tuesday.  This list of available homes will change each week. Teign Housing will not always have available properties to bid on.

Most social landlords across Devon use Devon Home Choice to advertise their homes, so you will be able to see homes available across Devon, not just Teign Housing ones.
