Introducing Teign Homes

Over the coming months, Teign Housing and Templer HomeBuild will be joining together as one organisation, and from 1 October this year, we will be working as one company called Teign Homes.

At the moment, we have two companies – Teign Housing and Templer HomeBuild. We’ve listened to residents who have told us this can be confusing, and that we should improve how we work together.

Importantly, this is not an expensive change. Having one company and one identity will be cheaper and more efficient. This will save money that we can spend on improving homes and services.

As we are already due to be replacing our Templer HomeBuild vans later this year, the replacements will come with the new name on, at no extra cost.

What does this mean for you?

You don’t need to do anything, and the services you receive will remain the same.

Your home, tenancy or licence agreement, rent payments and services will all stay the same, with the same people delivering services.

Over time, you’ll start to see our new name and logo appearing on things such as:

  • letters, emails and documents
  • our website and social media
  • colleague uniforms, vehicles and signs.

We’ll introduce these changes gradually, making use of existing materials wherever possible to ensure a practical and responsible transition.

Below are some FAQs to answer some of your questions.

Why are you changing your name?

Over the years, our organisation has evolved and grown. We want our name and brand to better reflect who we are today and our ambitions for the future.

With new exciting changes happening as we bring Teign Housing and Templer HomeBuild together as one organisation, now is the right time for us to create a single identity that reflects who we are, what our values are, and how we serve the needs of our customers.

While our look may change, our purpose remains exactly the same – providing homes people love and being a landlord you can trust.

Is anything changing for me?

No. Your home, tenancy, rent payments and services will all stay the same. You’ll continue to receive support from the same teams and colleagues you know today.

Do I need to do anything?

No action is needed.

We’ll take care of everything and keep you informed throughout the transition

Will my tenancy agreement still be valid?

Yes. Your tenancy agreement remains fully valid and there is no need to sign any new paperwork because of the rebrand.

Will my rent or service charges change?

No. The change in name has no impact on your rent, service charges or payment arrangements. Please continue to make payments as normal.

Will I still be able to contact the same people?

Yes. You’ll still be supported by the same teams, and we’ll continue to be here to help whenever you need us.

Why spend money on a rebrand?

With Templer HomeBuild becoming part of Teign Housing, there will be some changes happening to some of our signs and vans, and this is a perfect opportunity to change our identity without having to rebrand in the future.

We’re taking a practical and phased approach to the change. Wherever possible, we’ll use existing materials before replacing them and introduce new branding gradually. This helps us minimise costs and avoid unnecessary waste.

What changes will I see?

Over time, you’ll start to notice our new name and logo on:

  • Letters and emails
  • Our website
  • Staff uniforms
  • Vehicles
  • Signage
  • Social media

These changes won’t happen overnight, so you may see both old and new branding during the transition period.

Is this a merger or takeover by another company?

No. We’re still the same organisation. This is simply a change to our name and visual identity.

Is this anything to do with local Councils like Teignbridge District Council being abolished?

No. We are an independent organisation and nothing to do with any Council changes.

Will this affect my Right to Buy?

No. You’re Right to Buy remains unaffected.

Will repairs and maintenance services be affected?

Not at all.

You can continue reporting repairs and accessing services in exactly the same way as you do now. Our day-to-day services will continue as normal.

How will I know communications from the new brand are genuine?

We’ll communicate any changes clearly and in advance.

You may notice a new logo or email address, but messages will continue to come from us through our usual trusted channels. If you’re ever unsure, you can always contact us directly.

What happens next?

We’ll continue to keep residents updated as the new brand is introduced.

The change will happen gradually, and we’ll make sure you know what to expect every step of the way.
