Behind every service we provide is a team of dedicated people working to support our customers and communities every day. From housing staff to finance, each role plays an important part in helping us deliver safe homes and thriving neighbourhoods.
We’re taking a look at some of those people who help us deliver homes people love and be a landlord you can trust.
Hi Eden, how long have you worked here and what do you do?
I’ve been at Teign Housing since February 2025, working as a Development Project and Sales Officer. My role involves being part of the team that delivers our new-build properties and sells Shared Ownership homes to a wide range of buyers.
We oversee the entire journey – from initial contract exchanges and build agreements through to property handover and final sale – ensuring everything runs smoothly for both the business and our customers.
How would you explain your role to someone who’s never heard of it?
My role is about making sure new homes are built to a high standard and that the process is smooth for everyone involved. This includes attending site meetings to support our Project Manager, working closely with developers, and monitoring quality throughout the build with our Clerk of Works. We also have an input in the design of new properties, from kitchens to bathrooms to parking.
I also oversee defects in new-build homes, acting as the link between developers and residents to ensure any issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Alongside this, I advertise Shared Ownership properties and allocate them to suitable applicants. I guide customers through the sales process, carry out viewings and appointments, and support them through to completion—helping with things like utilities, council tax, and any post-completion queries.
How does your role make a difference to our customers?
My role supports customers through one of the biggest milestones in their lives – buying a home. Many Shared Ownership customers are at different stages of life and benefit from clear guidance and support throughout the process.
We ensure that homes meet a high standard and that communication between Teign Housing, developers, and customers is clear and effective.
Often, customers may find it difficult to advocate for themselves, so we step in on their behalf when needed – making sure they get the best possible outcome from both Teign and the developer.
What do you enjoy most about working at Teign?
I really value the culture and working environment at Teign. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and supportive. Communication from senior leadership is clear, especially around the organisation’s vision and values.
Although each team has its own way of working, there’s a strong sense of collaboration – no one is ever too busy to help, listen, or offer advice.
