Affordable broadband and landline for low-income customers

You might qualify for BT’s low cost landline and internet package if you receive one of these benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Pensions Credit (Guaranteed Credit)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (income related)
  • Universal Credit (and are on zero earnings)

BT Basic + Broadband lets youstay in touch for less than £20 a month. You can pay line rental, have BT Basic Broadband and pay no more than £10 per month for calls to 01, 02, 03, 07 and 08 numbers. It includes 12GB usage a month.

If you don’t need broadband*, BT Basic costs even less. The £5.10 a month line rental comes with a £1.50 call allowance, and you get free weekend calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers lasting up to 60 minutes.

*Note that you will need another reliable way to access the internet for example, through your mobile phone or at your local library in order to claim Universal Credit.

Universal Credit is being phased in in Teignbridge from September 2018. It will replace Housing Benefit, Income Support, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, and income-related Employment Support Allowance. All other benefits are unaffected.
