We already provide over 4,000 outstanding homes. You’ll build on our success.

At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 113 people enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending time working at home. We believe giving you choice will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.

About the Development Manager role

As a key member of our management team, you will take ownership of our Development Programme and oversee all aspects of our speculative and affordable housing plans. Actively identifying and acquiring land and property to expand our portfolio of more than 4,000 homes, you will assess the feasibility of potential projects and oversee contractors and consultants to achieve best practice and best value. At the same time, we will look to you to lead and manage the development team, obtain development grant funding and liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies and our development partners, so you will require commercial acumen, along with great communication, influencing and people skills.

About you

Experienced in residential development from land acquisition to programme delivery, you should be a skilled project manager with deep technical, regulatory, contractual, procurement and legal knowledge. A relevant degree or membership of an appropriate professional body (MCIH, MRICS, MRIOB) would be very useful, as would familiarity with social housing policy standards and regulations, but we will value your initiative, drive and determination to make things happen above all.

Benefits

We are an Investor in People Platinum organisation, so you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. You can also expect to enjoy an excellent benefits package, including:

• Flexible working with time based at home
• Training opportunities
• 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays and discretionary leave between Christmas and New Year
• Pension scheme
• Free parking
• Employee Assistance Programme
• And much more
