The more you enhance our governance, the more we improve our residents’ lives.
At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 90 people enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending time based at home. We believe giving you choice over when, where and how you work will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.
About the Head of Governance role
Championing excellence in all aspects of governance and economic and consumer regulation, you will be an influential ambassador for the Chief Executive, Board and Regulator on a broad spectrum of compliance issues. With a remit that also extends to legal and secretarial services, PR, communication and resident involvement, you can expect significant challenge and constant variety as you ensure we are well placed to make our mark in an evolving regulatory landscape. In particular, you will closely partner our Director of People and Technology to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of IT whilst supporting the Executive Management Team to maintain and continuously review an excellent governance and assurance framework.
About you
Adept at delivering training in best practice and building policy libraries, you will bring extensive experience of governance, ideally in a social housing environment. Needless to say, you should possess deep understanding of housing association and charity regulations, familiarity with preparing and managing substantial budgets, and the confidence to take clear and considered decisions. Experience of Right to Buy, Acquire and Lease and Shared Ownership legislation would be very useful, as would expertise in PR, marketing and data analytics, but it’s your world class planning, strategy and implementation skills that will ensure your success.
Benefits
We are an Investor in People Platinum organisation, so you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. You can also expect to enjoy an excellent benefits package, including:
- Flexible working with time based at home
- Training opportunities
- 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays and discretionary leave between Christmas and New Year
- Pension scheme
- Free parking
