Help us create communities where everyone wants to live.

Teign Housing is a successful social landlord employing over 90 ambitious, committed people, responsible for managing more than 3,600 homes across South Devon. We are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, and as one of our Neighbourhood Services Advisors you will be central to everything we do as you help us build sustainable communities and provide cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods.

Undertaking regular property and estate inspections and home visits, you will report any maintenance issues and follow up on any tenancy or welfare concerns, investigate complaints of antisocial behaviour and abuse whilst working with partner agencies to bring about swift resolutions. Equally importantly, you will make certain that our tenants are adhering to the conditions of their Tenancy Agreements, including addressing any breaches up to and including legal action. At the same time, you will assist the Lettings team in minimising the length of time our homes are empty between tenancies by conducting property viewings, proactively resolve rent arrears and act quickly where tenants are damaging the fabric of their homes, so you will have a vital part to play in protecting our bottom line, as well as enhancing residents’ quality of life.

We place great emphasis on making the best use of your time. We are, therefore, introducing mobile working so that staff can work from ‘dropdown zones’ out on the patch. Essentially, we are raising our profile out in the communities and taking services closer to customers.

Every day will bring different challenges, so we require an experienced social housing professional with excellent relationship building skills and proven ability to resolve complex problems. Good knowledge of housing legislation would naturally be very useful, as would a background in a similar frontline role, but more importantly you will be capable of prioritising your own workload and happy to attend residents’ meetings outside office hours. Finally, it is essential that you have a clean current driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Please note, this is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package with a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ leave per year plus bank holidays, free parking and a modern working environment.
