We want to build great communities, not just great homes. You’ll help us make it happen.

At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 90 staff members enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending time based at home. We believe giving you choice over when, where and how you work will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.

As our Neighbourhood Services Advisor, you will help us create cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods and maintain sustainable communities as you conduct regular inspections and proactively resolve any issues you identify – so you will be central to our residents’ quality of life.

About the Neighbourhood Services Advisor role

Every day will bring different challenges as you liaise constantly with tenants and external agencies to make things happen. You will find yourself organising lettings and conducting viewings, preparing and varying leases and helping new residents settle in, whilst arranging and attending community meetings and other forums. Where antisocial behaviour or breaches of tenancy conditions occur, you will act rapidly to resolve the situation, including implementing legal action where there is no alternative, and you will help to ensure that minor disputes between neighbours do not become major issues. In short, you will do whatever it takes to help residents get the most out of their tenancies – and their lives.

About you

Your background in social housing will have given you sound experience of developing productive working relationships and meeting targets, and you will ideally bring some knowledge of housing legislation. More importantly, you will be passionate about customer care, capable of arranging your own workload and determined to make a difference, and you will enjoy resolving problems and using your initiative. Finally, it is vital that you have a clean, current driving licence and access to your own vehicle, and you should be happy to operate outside normal office hours.

Benefits

We are an Investor in People Platinum organisation, so you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. You can also expect to enjoy an excellent benefits package, including:

• Flexible working with time based at home
• Training opportunities
• 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays and discretionary leave between Christmas and New Year
• Pension scheme
• Free parking
• Employee Assistance Programme
• And much more
