Help us deliver great homes for the people who need them most.

At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 90 people enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending much of their time based at home. We believe giving you choice over when, where and how you work will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.

About the Development Officer role

In this crucial position, you will support the delivery of new homes, with particular emphasis on affordable rental and shared ownership properties. We will look to you to bring our development plan to life as you assist in identifying and purchasing land and property, engage consultants and contractors, and resolve wide-ranging technical, planning, quality and design challenges. Notably, you will oversee the completion of construction works within agreed timescales and budgets and will organise promotional events and activities to publicise your achievements, so you can expect plenty of variety and a very high profile.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

About you

Previous experience in a property development position would be very useful, as would awareness of social housing policies and regulations, but this is not essential provided you are self-motivated, highly organised and keen to learn. Well-developed IT skills are vital, enabling you to update our databases, and you will be adept at general administration, including servicing meetings.

Above all, you should be a true self-starter who thrives under pressure and can balance conflicting priorities – and you will share our passion for our delivering great homes to the people who need them most.

Benefits

We are an Investor in People Platinum organisation, so you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. You can also expect to enjoy an excellent benefits package, including:

• Flexible working with time based at home
• Training opportunities
• 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays and discretionary leave between Christmas and New Year
• Pension scheme
• Free parking
• Employee Assistance Programme
• And much more
