Take ownership of our people, projects and processes. So we can help people take ownership of more great homes.

At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 90 people enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending time based at home. We believe giving you choice over where and how you work will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.

About the Director of People and Technology role

Enjoying an enviable quality of life in picturesque Devon, you will report directly to the Chief Executive as you champion best practice in IT, assurance, corporate culture, customer service and employee engagement. Your remit will also span data protection, HR, legal and regulatory issues, complaint management, quality, health and safety and communications, so you will be crucial to our ongoing development – and to the delivery of outstanding services for our residents.

In particular, you will ensure that key business decisions are shaped by the needs of our diverse customer groups and will make certain that they have a strong and positive voice. Furthermore, you will provide inspiring leadership to your teams as you drive continuous improvement and actively mitigate risk whilst overseeing our compliance with evolving legislation and regulations.

About you

You will be central to developing both our people and processes, so we require a truly visionary professional. Highly experienced in strategic leadership positions, ideally within a social housing environment, you will be skilled in managing IT, Digital and HR teams, fully familiar with risk assurance and data protection, and capable of building effective relationships with wide-ranging stakeholders.

If you are formally qualified as a lead auditor, GDPR practitioner or HR professional, so much the better, but it’s your tenacity, problem-solving skills and deep determination to make a difference that will matter most.

Benefits and rewards

We are an Investor in People Platinum organisation, so you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. You can also expect an excellent benefits package, including:

• Flexible working with time based at home
• 30 days’ leave plus bank holidays and discretionary leave between Christmas and New Year
• Private healthcare scheme
• Training opportunities
• Pension scheme
• Free parking
• Employee Assistance Programme
• And much more
