Are you a capable administrator? Your career starts here.

Teign Housing is a successful social landlord employing over 90 ambitious, committed people, responsible for managing more than 3,700 homes across South Devon. We are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and, as our Income Assistant, you will be central to everything we do as you help us build sustainable communities and provide cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods.

At Teign Housing, we’re passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of agile working means our 90 people enjoy an exceptional work-life balance, with the option of spending much of their time based at home. We believe giving you choice over, where and how you work will improve both your wellbeing and your performance – creating a win-win situation for you, for us and for the thousands of people who rely on us.

About the Income Assistant role

Providing wide-ranging support to our Income team, you will resolve enquiries, take payments, set up direct debits and administer rent refunds. At the same time, as Income Assistant, you will manage the income team’s mailbox, assist with former tenant debt & re-charge collection, & administer housing benefit, so every day will bring different responsibilities.

Some administrative experience is essential, alongside a good general education, giving you everything you need to make your mark within a busy, results-oriented team. Basic knowledge of social housing would be ideal but is far from essential provided you bring a high level of IT literacy, good interpersonal and negotiating skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Above all, you will be capable of taking the initiative and organising your own workload, and you will be keen to work towards a formal housing qualification with our support.

Benefits

As an investor in People Platinum organisation, you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. We offer an excellent benefits package with a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ leave per year plus bank holidays, free parking and an agile, modern working environment.
